Rent a Nightliner
Volkswagen nightliners, Setra sleeper coaches and premium tour buses with driver – sleeper cabins, lounge and crew area included. The solution for multi-day tours of bands, sport crews and TV productions – compare individual offers from specialist providers.

What is a nightliner?
A nightliner – also called a sleeper coach or tour bus – is a specially fitted coach with permanent sleeper cabins. Instead of seat rows, there are 12 to 16 sleeping berths, a lounge area, galley, separate crew toilet and often a shower. While the crew sleeps, the nightliner drives overnight to the next show – saving hotel costs and maximising productive day time. Originally developed for rock and touring bands, nightliners are now also used for sports teams on long away trips, TV production crews and major event personnel. True nightliners are rare in Germany – Busly has verified providers for the most important regions.

When does a nightliner make sense?
Four typical occasions for multi-day tours with sleeper cabins – from band tours to festival crews.
Band tours and concert trips
A band on a 14-day European tour with 4 musicians plus 6 crew – the nightliner replaces 14 hotel nights per person. While everyone sleeps, the bus moves to the next city; in the morning the team is at the venue.
Sports teams on long away trips
Ice hockey league team on a best-of-five away series, basketball cup trip with three games in five days – in a nightliner, players recover en route and the coach plans strategy in the lounge area.
TV productions and festival crews
Festival build crew, mobile TV broadcast crew or roadshow personnel – the nightliner offers living, sleeping and working at the deployment site, without daily hotel logistics.
Premium touring for travel groups
Very rare but possible: small premium travel groups (10-12 people) on multi-city tours seeking maximum comfort and a unique travel experience. Niche but bookable.

Frequently asked questions about nightliners
Nightliners are significantly more expensive than standard coaches. Daily rates start at around €1,500-2,500. Multi-week tour rates are usually negotiated as a package. Via Busly you'll get comparison offers from the few available providers.
Standard is 12 sleeper cabins, some models offer 14-16. Cabins are smaller than a hotel bed but comfortable enough for several weeks of touring. Plus additional seats in the lounge during the day.
The bus driver works under EU driving-time regulations and rests while the crew sleeps. On long stages, two drivers (double crew) are used. A nightliner isn't a 24/7 vehicle, but a rolling hotel with planned stops.
At least 3-6 months lead time, since supply in Germany is limited. For festival season (May-September) and tour peaks, 6-12 months. Short-notice rentals are usually not possible.
